Fundación Prevent: Programmes for people with disabilities
Labour integration and education without barriers
The disabled people or people with functional diversity have covered a long distance fighting for their rights in the past decades. In this path they have found the support of the Fundación Prevent, with which the Fundación Jesús Serra actively collaborates. The Fundación Prevent works towards improving the quality of life of these people in the working environment, as well as promoting adapted sport and progressing in occupational risk prevention.
The Fundación Prevent has been providing Prevent Scholarships to Disabled Students for several years, and they are aimed at helping these people being able to access the labour market with the best possible education. Aimed at university and advanced education, they focus on promoting equal opportunities in higher education.
In addition, the Fundación Prevent runs the Classroom of Entrepreneurs Programme: Aprende y Emprende. This initiative combines education and mentoring, and it is aimed at entrepreneurs with disabilities that have a project in mind or, even, at those that have recently started a business initiative and need a boost. During over seventy hours, split between academic and cross-disciplinary education in the form of workshops and conferences, the participants of this programme will learn strategy, they keys of entrepreneurship, marketing, finances, the legal and regulatory aspects and people management, among other areas.
But the real added value provided by the Classroom of Entrepreneurs Programme to those who wish to delve into the world of business initiatives is the specialised mentoring offered during the education and when starting or consolidating the business initiative. In addition, the programme includes a networking space that contributes to promoting the relationship between the academic and business fields and the rest of entrepreneurs, which are provided greater innovative and sustainable opportunities for social and economic development.
The scholarships of the Prevent Foundation project will be awarded in December 2023.
